They say that 80% of what you eat is how you feel and look.  Even if you use the best of most expensive products, if your skin is not getting the nutrients needed, it won’t look its best.

Instead of treating dry skin or covering blemishes with tons of products, why not treat them completely by throwing these foods into your grocery bag?

ALMONDS- these are seeds, not nuts.  And they are packed with vitamin E- a powerful sunblocker!  According to a dermatology professor at Yale University, vitamin E is an anti-oxidant that protects the skin against free radicals and UV rays.

CARROTS- packed with vitamin A, they help clear breakouts.  Helps prevent the overproduction of dead cells in the skin’s outer layer, that’s where dead skin and sebum combine and clog pores.

DARK CHOCOLATE (yes!  chocolate)- flavonoids, the antioxidants in dark chocolate, smooth the skin and protect against sun damage.  And all you need is a few ounces a day!

SAFFLOWER OIL- the Omega 6 fatty acids in this oil are the ultimate moisturizer for people with dry, flaky skin.  The oil keeps cell walls flexible, allowing water to better penetrate the skin.  Research has found that this oil can be extremely beneficial with people with extreme skin conditions like eczema.

SWEET POTATOES-  loaded with Vitamin C, which helps smooth out wrinkles and great for collagen production.  And we know that the more collagen you have, less crinkles you have!

TOMATOES- great on salads but if you cook them, they can help save your skin.  Loaded with Lycopene- helps eliminate free-radicals that cause aging of the skin!

TUNA IN A CAN-   who knew your sandwich had a little secret- selenium!  An essential nutrient that helps preserve elastin, a protein that helps keep your skin smooth and tight!
